Making the most of the ceasefire
The weapons are silent. Our work is in full swing. The long-awaited ceasefire in Gaza brings a renewed sense of hope and presents a crucial opportunity: humanitarian aid can finally reach Gaza in greater quantities. However, time is limited – we must act NOW to deliver essential supplies such as food, water and medicine to those in desperate need.
Children in Gaza: A life of fear and hunger
The suffering of children in Gaza remains immense. For almost 16 months, they have been living in fear, hunger and uncertainty. They lack everything: water, food, medical care, psychosocial support and protection.
In northern Gaza, famine is looming. Infectious diseases such as cholera, measles and polio threaten children’s health. Hardly any hospitals are functioning anymore. Nearly one million displaced children are enduring this winter in tents, barely protected from rain and cold. The situation is devastating – but now we have the opportunity to help.

A breath of hope for Gaza
As soon as the ceasefire came into effect, dozens of UNICEF trucks delivered water, food, hygiene kits, and winter clothing to families in Gaza.
Between January 19 and 21, 160 UNICEF trucks provided life-saving aid to northern and southern Gaza, with 2,000 more truckloads planned. After 15 months of war, the needs are enormous.
Every minute counts. Every donation makes a difference.
Your support is more important than ever!

Our help for the children in Gaza
Nutrition: As part of our humanitarian aid in Gaza, we provide life-saving therapeutic food for children. We also screen for malnutrition and treat those who are affected or at risk.
Health: UNICEF delivers essential supplies to hospitals and health facilities, including health and first aid kits, medicines, vaccines, baby essentials, blankets, water, and medical consumables like bandages.
Vaccination Campaigns: We conduct vaccination campaigns, even in the most difficult circumstances, to protect children in Gaza from life-threatening infectious diseases like polio.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH): Clean water is essential for survival. We provide safe drinking water through bottled supplies and water tank trucks. Additionally, we distribute hygiene kits and water purification tablets to support basic sanitation and prevent disease.
Child Protection: Violence, displacement, and the loss of their homes cause significant stress and trauma for children. In emergency shelters, they can participate in UNICEF play activities or share their experiences with our staff, providing both comfort and emotional support.
