In Mozambique, persistent heavy rainfall has caused massive flooding, while a cyclone recently struck the region during the tropical storm season. Homes have been destroyed, schools damaged and health centres severely affected. Hundreds of thousands of people have been impacted, nearly half of them children.
In several areas, water and health infrastructure was already limited before the disaster. The floods have worsened this fragility and disrupted access to essential services.
Contaminated water and cholera outbreaks
Floodwaters contaminate wells and disrupt the supply of safe drinking water. In overcrowded accommodation centres, hygiene conditions deteriorate rapidly.
In this context, cholera spreads more easily. To contain outbreaks, we support cholera treatment centres and carry out vaccination campaigns to protect children and limit the spread of the disease.

Provide essential help
Before, during and after the floods
Our commitment neither begins nor ends with the disaster.

Delivery of essential supplies
BEFORE…
… a catastrophe occurs, we strengthen local capacities and pre-position emergency supplies so we can act immediately.
DURING…
… the floods, we provide emergency relief, ensure access to safe water, distribute hygiene kits, deliver medical supplies and deploy mobile teams to maintain essential health services, particularly for the most vulnerable children.

Cholera vaccinations

Access to clean water and hygiene
AFTERWARDS…
… we rehabilitate water, health and education infrastructure so that communities can better withstand future climate-related disasters.
Every donation counts
In the face of such widespread destruction, every contribution matters. By donating today, you help protect children, ensure access to safe water and strengthen the resilience of communities for tomorrow.
